Making pyrohy has always been an important activity initiated in 1951 by the
parishioners of St. George’s during the ministry of Rev. Eustace Weselowsky
to support church projects.
Today a good number of men and women gather together week after week to
prepare our delicious pyrohy for sale to the many customers that enjoy them.
We make our pyrohy the “Old World” way with quality products and care.
Here is our product list:
Classical pierogies:
Potato
Sauerkraut
Half/Half (Potato with Sauerkraut)
Special pierogies:
Loaded potato
Jalapeno
farmer's cheese
Our prices are only $9.00 per dozen for classic (potato, sauerkraut, and
half and half) and $10.00 for special
pierogies (loaded baked potato, farmer cheese, and jalapeno). We still try to keep the lowest prices in the Pittsburgh area.
You can place your order by calling our church hall at 412-766-8800 on
Wednesday morning or Thursday. Ask for our pyrohy coordinator Darrel Chulack
or Mary Siweckyj. Our pyrohy sales are on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We do not close
during the year (except for the Holiday's).
Our busiest time of the year is the Philip’s Fast (Advent) and the Great
Fast (Lent). During that time please place your orders three weeks in
advance.
